My Policies and Procedures
Here is a list of our policies
and procedures. I publish these to
avoid any misunderstandings or
surprises. I want my clients to be as
fully informed as possible. Please
read it carefully. If you do have
any questions, please feel free to ask.
Pet Sitting Hours
*7:30AM - 9:30PM*
We cannot guarantee to be at your home at a specific time except
in
special cases involving medication. We do ask you
for a preferred time
and most times we will be there as
scheduled but it will all depend upon our daily schedule
and what other pet sits we have
that day. Factors taken into
account include the location of each sit, the
types of
pets and any special care or medication needed.
Indoor dogs and
pets on medication get top priority.
*There is a $5 additional
charge per visit
Before 7:30AM & After 9:30PM
Medical Policies
These policies
are in effect for the health, safety and well
being of your pet as well as all of our clients.
*All dogs and cats under our care must be up to
date on their rabies vaccinations.*
Sorry but, we do NOT provide the care for:
Pets requiring injections -
Piper's Pets Does
and who I refer to.
Pets requiring external and /or oral medications
are acceptable.
Illness
In the event your pet becomes ill during the time you are away, we will
make every effort to contact you. In the event we cannot reach you, we will
contact your preferred veterinarian for treatment. If the illness requires
immediate attention we will attempt to make it to your veterinarian’s
office or to the closet veterinarian office or hospital for observation
and/or treatment, your pet will be kept there until your return,
unless we are otherwise advised by you.
Well-Being
*Your pet will
not be crated without your authorization.
*Your pet will never be in an unfenced area off leash.
*Your pet will never be treated in an unkind manner and will never be hit
or yelled at for any reason.
*We don't do every other day visits. All
pets in our care must be seen at least once a day. We know some people leave
cats or bunnies for a couple days sometimes but we are just not comfortable
with not checking on a pet at least once in 24 hours. You'd be surprised
at what could happen. We care too much about your pets to take any
chances.
Pet Boarding
Cindy's Pet
Services is not a boarding service, in that we cannot take your pets to
our
home. We provide loving pet care right in your own home, this
provides comfort and security to you and your pet (s) this reduces any
stress that might be felt by your pet(s) because he/she is in a familiar,
secure environment, where all sights, smells and sounds are familiar to
him/her. Your pet(s) will receive one on one interaction and play time,
and will be loved as if he/she were a member of my own family.
If you are looking to board your pet in someone's home I do recommend
Sally McCall - 786-9138
She lives on Dartmouth St at North Hills and keeps dogs under 40lbs in her
home. She is a stay at home Mom and a great lady!!
Reservations
Before a
reservation can be made we do require a consultation with both you and your
pets. There is no charge for this consultation. We need to visit your pet
in your home and collect information on the regular care of your pet as
well as get to know your pet and his or her personality. This way we are
able to provide them with the best care possible. We also want to answer
all of your questions so that you feel completely comfortable with your
decision to choose us as your pet care provider. It is always best that
you make your reservations as far in advance as possible. We plan
schedules based on our clients needs, Holidays do book up fast. We can only take
on so many clients.
Please remember to call upon
your return from a trip, we do leave you a card reminding you of this.
Otherwise we will need to continue visiting to ensure the safety and
well-being of your pet(s). Additional visits will be added to your bill at
$5 above your regular rate. Please call at any hour and leave a voice
message that you have returned. Do not worry about calling late at night,
my voice mail will get it if I am not available. You can also e-mail
me to let me know you are home.
Payment
Payment is expected in full, on the first
day of service, we do not bill you! On our consult you are
provided with an envelope to leave payment on the countertop for me to
get the 1st day of service.
There are NO refunds for
early returns!
My Preferred Method of Payment is CASH but we also take Checks
(Make Payable to Cindy's Pet Services)
Credit Card - we do accept payments by credit card
thru pay-pal, I will invoice you for payment plus I do add 3% to your total
to cover their fees. Payment is due 3 days before start of service
if you are paying this way.
Cancellation
If you
need to cancel scheduled visits, please give as much notice as
possible. Many times we are forced to refuse clients due to unavailable
time, so we greatly appreciate advance notice of cancellation.
There is a $15 Fee for cancellations made
with less than 48 hours notice.
Always
Do Visits
In the event of a personal situation,
illness or injury to me I will arrange for another qualified individual to
fulfill the responsibilities set forth in your service agreement.
Your pets will always be taken care of, I have yet to have to do this and
hopefully never will but I do have back-up if needed. My
husband, Mike, sometimes accompanies me at night on my rounds and on the
weekends, he is familiar with a lot of my clients and we have both become
friends with some of my clients as well.
As far as weather problems such as large snowfalls or
ice, my husband will take me to my appointments, he does have 4-wheel
drive and has no problems with the road conditions, he will make sure I
get to you safely.
Holiday Visits
$5
additional charge per EACH visit on
the following Holidays:
* New Year's Eve and New Day
*Easter Sunday
* Memorial Day
* Independence Day
* Labor Day
* Thanksgiving Day
*Christmas Eve and Christmas Day
Emergency Contacts
Please
ensure that we have all necessary contact information before you leave. In
the event that we have trouble getting into your home, I would need to
contact someone from outside your house...and any information that is left
inside the house is no use. It is essential that you provide all
information during your initial interview when you schedule service.
Key
Policy
Cindy's Pet Services
must have a key to your home before you leave...we will not leave keys
"under the mat" or the like, due to security issues for your home and for
myself. In addition, we will NOT lock keys in the house after the last
visit, as we must be able to access your home in case you are delayed on
your arrival home and your pet(s) require/need additional visits. After
your pet sit is finished we can either mail your key back to you or keep
them on file. If we keep your key you will be all set for any future sits
(and it also comes in handy if you accidentally lock yourself out). Keys
are kept in a secure location and only labeled your pets name for security
reasons. If we do mail your keys back to you there is a $10 fee for all
future pick ups of keys.
Changes to Locks, Alarm Codes and Pets/or Pet Care
If you
have made any lock or alarm code changes, it is critical that you notify
us when scheduling service. We want to provide the best care for your
pets, so please make sure it is brought to our attention; also inform us as to
any new pets, or any changes with the existing pet(s).
Do you
have a License?
I do have a
privilege license with the city of Raleigh, that is all that is required
of me to operate this type of business.
What
about Insurance?
I do have a general liability
policy, so you are protected.
Being bonded or having insurance does not guarantee quality of service. My own reputation
is the best guarantee of quality and we do provide references on my consult
with you and you can see the comments on my site on my
Happy Clients page.
Are
you Bonded?
Yes, I am bonded thru Travelers
Casualty & Surety
Company of America.
Guests
in Your Home
If you will
have someone staying in your home or dropping in while you are away, let
us know as we don't like surprises as that can be embarrassing for your
guests and for me if we think they are an intruder
Photos
We usually take a digital picture of each
pet for my
Happy Clients web page.
If you don't want any photos taken of yours please let us know.
Termination
Last but not least, Cindy's Pet Services
reserves the right
to deny service or terminate service for any reason, but especially in the
case of safety concerns, financial concerns, unsanitary conditions, or
inappropriate or
uncomfortable situations.
